Just finished reading The Amazing Brain Club: God’s Special Design for All Brains by Lindsey Goff Viducich and illustrated by Cyndi Wojciechowski and my heart feels so full.
This beautiful picture book is a celebration of kids with ADHD and the incredible way their minds work. It gently reminds children that being different is not something to fix but something to understand and value. The message is clear and uplifting, your brain is not a mistake, it is a gift with purpose.
I love how the story helps kids see their creativity, energy, and big ideas as strengths. It also offers encouragement for the harder moments, showing practical ways to navigate challenges while still embracing who they are. The illustrations bring so much warmth and joy to every page.
What makes this book extra special is how it opens the door for understanding between all kids. It encourages kindness, inclusion, and appreciation for the many ways people think and learn.
As a neuroscience nurse, I especially appreciate how it speaks to both identity and self worth in such an accessible way for children.
“We’re each in a different part of the Amazing Brain Club – and when God created you, He knew the world needed a brain just like yours.“
As someone who loves a man with ADHD (my husband), I was drawn to the concept behind The Amazing Brain Club by Lindsey Goff Viducich. And after I read this sweet picture book, I let hubby read it and he loved it too! He also got a little emotional because he not only felt seen, he felt validated and valued, gifted by God on purpose with a brain that’s not like everyone else’s. Imagine how a book like this could encourage a neurodivergent child so he or she doesn’t have to wait until adulthood for someone other than a loved one to tell them their brain is amazing?!? Besides its great message, the book also has delightfully diverse illustrations by Cyndi Wojciechowski – in soothing color tones – that children (and adults) will enjoy pausing to examine.
Even if you don’t have a neurodivergent child in your life, The Amazing Brain Club should still be added to your home or school library. It’s a wonderfully-presented reminder that everyone is created by God to be unique and to fill a role in the body of Christ that only they can fill, whether your brain is more like a file cabinet or a flutter of confetti. I can also see this being used to facilitate better understanding of the ‘disruptive’ or ‘hyper’ or ‘dreamy’ or ‘brainy’ children in your child’s class and how we all process information differently. Anything that helps us develop more empathy for people who are ‘different’ from us – and points to Jesus at the same time – is a winner in my book, and this one is definitely a winner.
Bottom Line: The Amazing Brain Club by Lindsey Goff Viducich is a warm, affirming, and faith-rooted picture book that encourages ADHD & neurodiverse kiddos (and grown-ups) that the way their brains work is an intentional gift from God, not a flaw. Not only does it celebrate individuality and foster understanding, it points to an even greater truth – that we all are a valuable part of the body of Christ with our own roles that we were designed specifically to fill. Cyndi Wojciechowski’s illustrations perfectly complement the text and present a varied mix of skin tones, abilities, and features so that every child can see something of themselves on these pages. I’m so glad a picture book like this exists!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Joyful Celebration of God‑Designed Brilliance The Amazing Brain Club is one of those rare picture books that feels like it was written with families like mine in mind. Lindsey Goff Viducich captures something I’ve spent years trying to speak over my son—that his brain, with all its creativity, intensity, energy, sensitivity, and spark, isn’t a flaw to fix but a masterpiece of God’s design. While the book focuses on ADHD, it also fits my autistic son perfectly. He saw himself in these pages—the big feelings, the bright ideas, the unique ways of thinking—and instead of feeling “different,” he felt understood. Watching him light up as he recognized his strengths reflected back with kindness and celebration was a moment I’ll hold close. It reminded him (and me) that God crafted his mind with intention, purpose, and love. He saw himself as the child who dreams big, thinks boldly, and loves deeply The story doesn’t just empower neurodiverse kids; it gently teaches siblings, classmates, and friends how to appreciate the beautiful variety of brains around them. My grandkids immediately connected the dots to their cousin, and it opened up such meaningful conversations about empathy, patience, and celebrating differences. Books that help children understand one another with compassion are rare, and this one does it with grace. The illustrations are vibrant and full of motion—exactly the kind of joyful energy that mirrors the lived experience of kids whose minds don’t fit neatly into boxes. And the biblical truths woven throughout—about being wonderfully made, deeply loved, and intentionally created—brought such peace to our reading time. It’s the kind of reassurance I want my children to carry with them long after childhood. For our family, this book is more than a story. It’s affirmation. It’s encouragement. It’s a reminder that neurodiversity is part of God’s beautiful mosaic, and that every child—ADHD, autistic, neurotypical, or anywhere in between—belongs in the Amazing Brain Club. Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and Lindsey Goff Viducich for the opportunity to read this early. We’ll be adding a physical copy to our home library the moment it’s released. Every brain belongs in the Amazing Brain Club—and this book helps kids believe it.
Reading The Amazing Brain Club: God’s Special Design for All Brains by Lindsey Goff Viducich was a warm and uplifting experience for me. From the very beginning, I could feel how much care and understanding went into this book. It doesn’t treat ADHD as something “wrong” that needs to be fixed. Instead, it celebrates children for who they are and reminds them that their minds are special and valuable.
What I liked the most was the positive and encouraging message. The book helps children see their creativity, energy, and unique way of thinking as strengths rather than problems. I thought this was very important because many children with ADHD often feel misunderstood or different. This story gently reassures them that they belong and that they are wonderfully made.
The illustrations also add a lot of warmth and charm to the reading experience. They make the message easier for children to connect with and keep the book engaging from start to finish. I could imagine young readers feeling comforted and happy while reading it.
Another thing I appreciated was how the book encourages empathy and understanding among all children, not just those with ADHD. It teaches that every brain works differently and that these differences should be respected and appreciated. I think this makes the book valuable not only for families but also for classrooms and group settings.
The faith-centered approach is simple and comforting. It reminds readers that they are loved by God exactly as they are, which adds an extra layer of encouragement and hope.
Overall, I found this book thoughtful, kind, and empowering. It’s a beautiful read for children and parents alike, especially for families wanting to help kids feel confident, accepted, and proud of who they are.
This delightfully illustrated children's book about differences in brains and how they function is a positive presentation on acceptance of being neurodiverse in an neuro-ordinary designed world. It seems to me as I read through the text that the focus is primarily on ADHD (Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) which by definition is short attention span and being hyper active in conduct and performance. This typically creates disorder in the home, classroom, and business scene (once a person is grown). The storyline of The Amazing Brain Club brings acceptance, positivity, and inclusivity to those who have the neurodiverse brain that is ADHD.
Often a person whose brain is different from the ordinary has extraordinary and wonderful talents and attributes. Their minds explore more, are quick to encapsulate ideas into theories and designs, and are able to contribute greatly to our world and society. The key is learning how to function within the scope of society and the design of one's brain differences.
However, acceptance is very much a key to this ability to be a creative, contributing individual instead of a disruptive, confused individual. The "Brain Club" idea is tremendous and grants a wonder and winning quality to being neurodiverse in a neuro-ordinary world.
A good book and written to appeal to ages 4 to 8.
I received a complimentary copy to facilitate a review. Opinions are mine, alone and are freely given.
I absolutely loved reading The Amazing Brain Club with my children. As a homeschool mom, I’m always looking for books that not only teach truth but also help children feel seen, understood, and valued—and this one does exactly that. The message is gentle, encouraging, and rooted in the beautiful reminder that God intentionally created every child with purpose.
What stood out to me most was how approachable and meaningful the book felt for both neurodivergent and neurotypical children. It opens up important conversations about how different brains work while celebrating those differences instead of treating them as something “wrong.” The illustrations are warm and inviting, and the overall tone is compassionate, hopeful, and uplifting.
I especially appreciated the faith-based perspective woven throughout the story. In a world where many children can quickly feel discouraged or labeled, this book speaks identity, belonging, and worth over them in such a beautiful way. It’s the kind of book that helps children better understand themselves while also building empathy toward others.
This has easily become one of those books I’ll continue recommending to fellow moms, homeschool families, and anyone wanting to nurture kindness and confidence in their children. Such a thoughtful and meaningful read.
As a parent (my husband was even sad that this didn't exist when he was a kid) I cannot recommend The Amazing Brain Club highly enough. Lindsey Goff Viducich has crafted a truly special and empowering book that addresses a topic many children struggle with—feeling different—and does so with incredible love and insight. This is more than just a picture book; it's a profound reminder that our differences, like having an ADHD brain, are not weaknesses but God-given gifts.
The story is beautifully told, presenting ADHD not as a deficit, but as a source of creativity and unique strengths, like imaginative thinking and energetic problem-solving. The message that every child is intentionally and wonderfully made is reinforced throughout, and the illustrations are as vibrant and joyful as the message itself.
What's particularly wonderful is that this book isn't just for neurodiverse children. It's an invaluable tool for all children to foster empathy and understanding for their classmates, siblings, and friends who may think differently. It’s a beautiful reminder that in God’s family, all kinds of minds belong. A must-read for every family and classroom, this book helps build a more compassionate and accepting world, one page at a time.
✨ A heartfelt and empowering read for children and families 💛🧠
I absolutely adored The Amazing Brain Club! This book is such a loving and encouraging celebration of neurodiversity, helping children with ADHD understand that their differences are not weaknesses — they are part of what makes them wonderfully unique.
What stood out to me most was how gently and beautifully the story reminds children that they are intentionally created by God, exactly as they are. The message is uplifting without feeling heavy-handed, and it offers so much reassurance for kids who may sometimes feel misunderstood or “different.”
The illustrations are bright, engaging, and full of warmth, and the writing does a wonderful job capturing the emotions, creativity, and experiences many neurodiverse children relate to. I also appreciated that this book encourages empathy and understanding from siblings, classmates, teachers, and friends, making it a meaningful read for all children — not just those with ADHD.
This is such a special picture book for families, classrooms, counselors, and children’s ministry spaces. It’s full of compassion, encouragement, and hope, and I truly believe it will help many children feel seen, valued, and celebrated 💫📚
Review to be added to Amazon UK and US on 14 April 2026 - publication day!
I thought that this was a great little book and it had a well developed story. The book has some really nice illustrations and they were perfect for the story.
It was easy to follow and understand and I loved the layout. The text was clear and not cluttered by the illustrations or placed over colours that made it hard to read. My daughter read it with ease and enjoyed it and I thought it was a great book to help kids with ADHD and the message that comes through that different brains aren't a problem.
There are a few children in her school with SEN and ADHD so it was good for her to learn a little more about it too as it isn't taught or explained in school and the children sadly just get thought of by the other children as being disruptive or naughty when they have issues and can't concentrate or focus which isn't fair. We used the book to talk about different ways different people learn and that everyone is different.
It is 5 stars from me for this one - a great addition for any primary school too - it really should be a must read! Very highly recommended!
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐦𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐛 is a great book that helps kids who think differently feel understood. It also teaches others that everyone is unique, and our differences make us special together.
The book starts with a cute “Certificate of Membership” for the Amazing Brain Club. Kids can write their names on it and feel like they belong and are accepted.
The book emphasizes that God made each person’s brain, and no two brains are the same. We all think, solve problems, and ask questions in our own way, and that’s what makes each of us special. Like different parts of a body, everyone has their own role and purpose.
This picture book shows that everyone’s brain works a little differently, and that’s something to celebrate. The bright and detailed pictures make the story fun and show diverse kids, each with their own talents.

#CoverLoverBookReview received a review copy of this book. Opinions are my own.
This book is for all kids (and adults)! Narrated from the perspective of kids, this book shows kids how some people's brains store everything in filing cabinets and other people's brains store everything like confetti. Our brains are idea factories and asking questions is okay. Sometimes our brains have energy all on the inside and sometimes that energy is on the outside and our energy is more than we can control. This book really celebrates differences and how God created all of us (and our brains) uniquely. I highly recommend this book for a home library.
I received an eARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.
*ARC review* This book was good for children. As an adult with ADHD, I would have loved to have books talking more about it. If it is specifically targeting ADHD kiddos I do think it could mention that, but if it is just in general for kids who are “hyperactive” then maybe the description should not specify for ADHD kids. I loved the art in the book and I felt like there was good representation throughout. It mentions God, the Bible, and how everyone is divinely created in God’s image which is a beautiful addition, especially for little minds. Great book for Christian parents of neurodivergent kids.
This book is wonderful. As a late diagnosed neurodivergent adult, I think a lot about what media is out there for my daughter in case she follows in my footsteps. This book is a guaranteed purchase. Whilst tailored to children with ADHD, the illustrations also clearly show children with other neurodivergencies and disabilities. It also has a religious rooting, emphasising how God made us all unique because the world needs all kinds of brains.
I highly recommend this book for children with ADHD. I'm going to be sending the link to several family/friends i think could make good use of this book.
The Amazing Brain Club was an excellent book to help children to understand what is going on in their busy brains and to know that having a brain that is "different" is not bad. It does a great job of explaining how they might feel different compared to others without running down anyone and assuring them that having zoomy brains and confetti thoughts can be gifts from God to do amazing things! I love that the book incorporates being in the body of Christ and how God designed us all to be different for a purpose.
I was given a copy of this book by the publisher with no expectations for a positive review. All opinions are my own.
This book is an adorable affirmation that there are different types of brains and they are all great. - God made all brains and loves them all. The ADHD narrator describes her brain as Zoomy. I loved the analogy of brains that keep facts in file cabinets or brains that treat facts like confetti! The book explains that means she is creative and can think of things that others don't. It also explores how all the energy can cause problems. Neurodivergent kids will feel seen and accepted. Other kids will get a better idea of what ADHD is like and see some of the positive attributes instead of just the problems. This book does mention that Christ, so it is ideal for Christian families, as apposed to a wider readership.
This book is a gem! The exciting illustrations and word art will keep those with "zippy, zoomy" brains engaged and help them to learn an important concept: that we've all been created for a purpose. As a mom of children with amazing brains, I'm grateful to have a resource like this beautiful book to spark conversations and help my children learn to express themselves. I will be passing it along to many friends whose kids also need this message!
I received an electronic ARC from Zonderkidz through NetGalley. Viducich shows readers how a child with ADHD views and processes the world. She places an emphasis on how special all of our brains are, and how God made them each unique. We see this child zip through so much of life - sometimes easily; sometimes getting in trouble, but always appreciating everything they learn.
Such a beautifully worded and illustrated story on the magnificent brains we have! I wish I could share this with my class, but I don't work in a school where religion can be openly shared. This would be a great book for my toddler to help increase his awareness of others with different brains, and show him how to appreciate and try to understand how they work.
The Amazing Brain Club by Lindsey Goff Viducich is a warm and uplifting picture book that celebrates the unique talents of kids with ADHD. With fun illustrations and simple text, it teaches that being different is a strength and offers helpful tips for handling ADHD challenges. Perfect for families and classrooms, it encourages understanding, kindness, inclusion, and confidence in all children.
Thanks to NetGalley, the author & the publisher for the opportunity to read this advanced copy.
