Beautiful book to get you started or to up your watercolour game. I’m really enjoying using it because it lets you put the techniques into practice straight away using the included workbook. The practice pages are good quality, more than suitable for experimenting with. One feature I particularly like is the section where you can test and note your colour mixes, which makes it much easier to get the right shade before applying paint to your artwork.
It’s also great that the sketches are already provided, so you can focus entirely on learning and applying the watercolour techniques, which are clearly explained and beautifully illustrated throughout. The added bonus of downloadable PDF templates means you can revisit the exercises on your own paper whenever you like. I’m especially keen to redo the butterfly using different colour combinations.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in learning watercolour. It guides you step by step, outlines exactly what materials you’ll need, and includes 20 practice pages to help you build your skills. Her ability to simplify what seems complex is what makes Nicki such a fabulous teacher and she’s hit the mark once again with her second book, Watercolor Made Simple Workbook. Don’t mistake this workbook for just a watercolor “coloring book”! In her beautiful new workbook, Nicki has included lesson after lesson highlighting important watercolor techniques for anyone wanting to grow their skills. The included pad of watercolor paper with pre-drawn sketches help get you started, but the way she skillfully breaks down the process, encourages consistent practice and gently guides you into your own experimentation will leave you feeling confident to explore watercolor all on your own!

Loved this book. It has sections with tips and photos about all the things you need to know to start watercolor. There are qr codes that will bring you to short videos for some exercises. Best is the book has outlines on watercolor paper so you can follow the step by step directions. There is even a qr code to get a file you can download of all the outlines so you can do them again. Step by step directions with photos are great. Great explanations and projects.

This is the second book in the series and I’m loving it as much as the first one. I would still call myself a beginner and having the outlines on watercolor paper, ready to paint, allows me to focus on the watercolor lessons without stressing over drawing. Just a few brushes and paints are needed. The instructions are easy to follow and the online tutorials are a bonus. I’m slowly seeing improvements in my watercolor skills.

This is an absolute amazing book. Nicki takes you through all the basics before delving into some beautiful watercolour pieces. And the best thing? No tracing involved if you don’t wish too. The designs are printed right onto quality watercolour paper so that you can paint straight into the book!! Genius!!! I can’t decide which was my favourite project in the book, there were just too many good ones!!

I couldn’t wait for Nicki’s second watercolor book arrive so I could feast my eyes on all the new projects. It did not disappoint….in fact I am so inspired that I started painting right away!! I was a true beginner when I found Nicki’s Life I Design website years ago. I have become a confident painter after taking her classes and buying her books.

I'm new to watercolor and I'm so grateful for this fun workbook. It folds out just like some paint sets do. I don't have the skills to sketch right now so thankfully Nicki Traikos provided the pages with drawings included. The pages are filled with instructions that allow a finished product that is simple and beautiful!

This is honestly the best watercolor workbook I have ever purchased! The step by step instructions are perfect for any level watercolor artist. The photography of her amazing paintings is so lovely. I’ve completed a few of the projects and have been thrilled with the outcome. I’m so excited to continue painting them all!

As always Nicki gives us a wonderful, beautiful and easy book to follow up to learn and improve. Additional she designed this book so well. The actually book on one side a d in the other the workbook to practice yourself. Ery good watercolor paper!

Went to a workshop that Nicki hosted, walking us through how to paint one of the images in the workbook and it was so much fun! I will definitely continuing to is this workbook to build on my watercolour skills :)
